Administration: Intranet Statistics

Administration: Intranet Statistics

We have some nice (but little-known) tools that allow Administrators to gauge recent system activity and see who has been using Cosential, as well as assessing use of the Cosential Intranet home page option (another great little-known feature).  A little big brother-ish?  Perhaps, but an invaluable way of seeing if the hard work of implementation and training is paying off.  This just-posted FAQ details these tools.

Q. How can I see how many people are using our Cosential account?

A. There are two areas in the Administration module that provide details about your firm’s Cosential usage: 1) Administration Module-Home Page and  2) Administration Module-“Stats” Tab

1) Administration Module-Home Page:  When you click on the Administration module, on the home page on the top left-hand area of the page you’ll see grey text which reads “click here for recent activity.”  Click on this text (it may take a while to load) to see system activity for the last 7 days related to records created and modified in the Companies, Contacts, Opportunities, Projects and Personnel modules.  Clicking on the underlined numbers indicated in each column (such as “7” under “Past 7 Days”) will open up a table listing the records referenced.

2) Administration Module-“Stats” Tab: This tab (found in the middle of the second row of Administration tabs) provides details about Intranet Usage (Intranet Stats) and overall Cosential usage (the “Firm Stats” area beneath Intranet Stats).

•    The Intranet Stats Options can be filtered by any month of the year and shows: number of successful hits (for the month, average per day and total unique visitors); the top intranet areas visited by page views, the total number of files downloaded, and the most downloaded files (the top ten are listed with the number of downloads noted).

•    Overall Cosential Use (Firm Stats) can be filtered by date (either relative such as today, this week, this month or an absolute date) as well as by user (you can show all users or one particular user).  After filtering, click on “go” to generate a list of users with log-in times.  This list can be exported to excel for further data manipulation and analysis.
