The next great boom for the AEC industry will start Jan 20, 2009

The economy is bad. Layoffs are starting to hit the AEC industry across the board. A few of our customers are asking to reduce the number of seats they have in our Enterprise Application Cosential. Why am I so stoked about the future? The one major tool the government has not used is spending on infrastructure. Today in CNN reports:

American workers will rebuild the nation’s roads and bridges, modernize its schools and create more sources of alternative energy, creating 2.5 million jobs by 2011, Obama said in the weekly Democratic address, posted on his Web site.

Who will benefit immediately from this? Architects and Engineers and then in about 1 year Construction companies. I predict that the industry will expand at a rate faster than it ever has and the country will be better for it. Obama wants to create 2.5 million jobs in the AEC sector.
