I just found a screen shot of DesignArchitecture a blog I had from October 27, 1997. For now designarchitecture is dormant, although I am thinking of reviving it. There are a bunch of ideas here that I can truly say were ahead of their times including live webcasts, podcasts, blog format, and more. Some of the design ideas here made their way into many other sites. I laid this out by had using a SGI Indigo 2 using SGI’s Webforce and hand-coding. Real Old School. I also had a daily email newsletter which had over 30,000 subscribers in the year 2000. The servers crashed and I was involved in moving Cosential forward during the first .com crash.
I am writing about this because I am trying to get some traction for this blog about Cosential, and our cool applications. DesignArchitecture was always meant to be a publicity tool for the software we wrote. We never took advantage of it the right way. Perhaps now is a good time to use the lessons I have learned blogging for more than 11 years. This look at the past reminds me that I know what to do.
